Product Description
The FMA IA 58 Pucará, designed by Argentina’s Fábrica Militar de Aviones, is a rugged, twin-tur-boprop counter-insurgency and ground-attack aircraft specialized in close air support (CAS) from rough, unpaved strips. It saw significant combat use during the 1982 Falklands/Malvinas War and was designed to counter guerrilla movements.
During the Battle of Goose Green Argentine Pucará ground-attack aircraft attempted to drop napalm bombs on mortar positions held by the British 2nd Battalion, Parachute Regiment (2 Para). However, they failed to detonate and the Paras had a lucky escape.
