Eduard Tratt began the war in BF 110s, accumulating thirteen victories by the end of 1940. He pioneered the use of fighter-bombers for pin-point attacks over England before transferring to the Eastern Front. In 1943 Tratt was assigned to command a special unit evaluating the new Me 410 against USAAF heavy bombers. Tratt would eventually be killed attacking B-17s of the 91st Bomb Group in February 1944. He had achieved 38 victories, including six heavy bombers and eight P-38 fighters, across 350 combat sorties. Metal components.
